Jon "Pep" Rosenfeld
Owner - Artistic Director
One of Boom’s founders, 'Pep' grew up in Evanston, Illinois and lived in Chicago before moving to Amsterdam.
He took a break from Boom in 1999, moving to LA and then to New York to write for Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update.
In 2001, his work on the weekly television show's famous news segment was nominated for an Emmy award.
Back at Boom, Jon created annual two-man shows including Going Down: A Comedy Show about Pessimism and Boom’s biggest hit, Mr America Contest (with Greg Shapiro). As Artistic Director, he directed 2003's critically acclaimed Boom Chicago Saves the World (Sorry About the Mess), Why Aren’t You Happy Yet, Bite the Bullet, and Me, MySpace and iPod, which has been called the best Boom show ever.
Now ‘Pep’ spends as much time as he can with his wife Tamara, sons Dante and Charlie, and dog Levi – or doing the New York Times crossword puzzle at the sauna. He doesn't bullshit, and he frequently has a good feeling.
